Chevron Holga Camera D.I.Y. by A Beautiful Mess

I saw the Chevron Holga Camera D.I.Y. over at A Beautiful Mess and instantly knew I had to paint one of my cameras. It's a brilliant and lovely idea! A few days before I saw the how-to, I picked up a cheap

camera from The Salvation Army and I knew it was the perfect one to paint. Unfortunately I don't have any before and during pictures, but this was the end result:

I am just so smitten by that camera now. Its the prettiest one of the pack by far.

A Day on the Lake

Today the weather was beautiful!! So my mom and I and two of her friends went to Lake Julian and rented a pedal boat! It was so lovely! It was also my first time every being in any type of boat. 

Lake Julian is a man made lake, and its purpose is to be a cooling agent for the local power plant. So unfortunately you can't do any swimming in the water, but you are able to rent boats for fairly cheap. Even though there is always that gigantic air-polluting energy plant looming in the background the whole time, the lake is a really beautiful place with nice parks and is plentiful in ducks and geese. You have to admit though, the energy plant does look pretty majestic against the lake.

What a workout!!

The best part was when ducks began to follow our little boat around! It was so adorable! They were hoping that we had something yummy for them to eat but unfortunately we didn't think to bring bread along. Sometimes they had trouble keeping up but would catch up when we stopped, then circle our boat! They were so precious!

They were some very brave little critters. 

It was a very enjoyable day overall and I can't wait to go back!

My hoodie from Mungo Crafts arrived in the mail the other day!! I was SO EXCITED when I got it!! I actually haven't taken it off since I opened it. It's even more perfect that I imagined it being, its so soft and warm and comfy! It's perfect for those days that the wind has a good chill to it (which is everyday lately). I'm so in love with it. The other details of my outfit are completely unimportant/irrelevant.

Also, isn't my boyfriend super adorable?

He was looking a bit like Grizzly Adams so we went to the mall and he got his ears lowered, then he let me get my hands on that beard of his and trim it up a little bit.

(What a huge difference!!)

One last thing: IT'S ALMOST SPRING!! There are trees and bushes and flowers starting to bloom everywhere now. I'm so excited I nearly pee my pants on a regular basis.

I can't wait to go on hikes and go swimming and plant a garden and wear cute dresses and ride with the windows down. I live for the spring/summer. I. Can't. Wait.

Deer Spotting

In my own front yard a few mornings ago! Aren't they precious?!

I woke up really early to use the bathroom and when I passed my bedroom window I froze when I saw these cuties. Their tails are especially adorable! The pictures are such low quality because 1) I grabbed the camera nearest to me and it doesn't have the best zoom to begin with, 2) My yard is two levels, and really long. So I had to zoom in as much as I possibly could to get close-ups and 3) It was early, I was tired, thus not worried about quality photos. I love all the little critters that wonder around my landlord's property!! This area is especially populated with cute little turkeys :)
