Outfit 5.29.12: Sunflower

/ Dress: Roses / Tights: Kmart / Shoes: Walmart Clearance / Hat: Wet Seal / Necklace: Woodii / Plugs: King's Body Jewelry / Belt: Ruche /

This outfit is one of my absolute favorites now! A family friend of ours said I looked like a sunflower and that might just be the best darn complement I've gotten in awhile. The photos are a little poopy because it looked like this outside:
Which doesn't really tell you anything, because it isn't clear that it is pouring down rain. Which made it really dark and my camera is the biggest baby in the world in low light situations. It's color gets funky and it gets heavy with the grainy-ness and it just cannot decide what it wants to focus on! So this is the best you get. It was nice getting a light mist the entire time I was taking these photos though. Also, I really love how green everything gets while its raining! Also also, I am so smitten by the hanging basket that is behind me in the first two pictures. It has the cutest little flowers in it.

Outfit 5.24.12: I Love My Bike

/ Shirt: Target / Skirt: Thrifted / Belt: Ruche / Shoes: Walmart Clearance / Necklace: Vintage /

I love Walmart's clearance rack in their shoe department. LOVE. IT. I've been eyeballing these brown faux suede loafers for a little while now, they've been on clearance forever. I wish I would have waited just a little longer to get them though and maybe I would have gotten them even cheaper, they were marked down to $7 when I bought them.

Now on to the outfit! Sorry, I just had to confess my love for cheap shoes at Walmart real quick. Anyways, I really love this skirt but I'm an idiot for wearing such a heavy skirt on such a hot day! It sure is a nice skirt to have during the winter though. This necklace (like 89.9% of the jewelry I own) was my grandmothers. My family was cleaning out her house after she died and of course the first thing I went for was the jewelry box. My cousin and I found two of these necklaces that were exactly the same so she has one and I have one :) Now this shirt... I love this shirt so much because I also love my bike so much! She's a beauty! And she has a nice, wide seat and she's a gorgeous color. I didn't even think about taking pictures with her until right this second, bummer! But you can click here to see what kind of bike I have. That baby was my best friend for awhile. I haven't rode it since I moved to the mountains (I'm terrified to ride it on these hilly, curvy, narrow roads!) and that makes me pretty sad, especially now since the tires are flat and the handle bars are collecting rust. When I lived in Mo though, I rode it all the time! The farthest I went on it was 20 miles (there and back, so 40 all together). I also lost 30 pounds the summer my bike and I were attached at the hip. One day, though, I'm going to fix it up and she'll look brand new and I'll hop on and we'll ride into the sunset and live happily ever after.

Outfit 5.15.12: A Restyle

/ Shirt: Thrifted / Skirt: Thrifted / Shoes: Walmart Clearance / Bag: Thrifted / Necklace: Thrifted / Plugs: Omerica Organic /

This is my "taking care of business" outfit. I think it's perfectly acceptable for any kind of business I might need to take care of, what ever it may be. Wearing this makes me want a job where I work at a desk and am required to go to meetings and talk to important business people and do important business things. I love to dress like this and have no reason to do so except for my own gratification. Actually, I take anything as a reason to dress up. Oh, we're going to Waffle House you say? Hold on while I go put on the nicest clothes I own. Oh, I'm not even leaving the house at all today? That's okay I'll just slip on some fancy clothes anyway. I'm always very over-dressed, no matter what I'm doing or where I'm going. Even if I were to be invited to a royal ball I would still find a way to be over-dressed.

Also, how well a dress/skirt can twirl seems to be pretty important to me I've realized. This skirt definitely scores high in twirl factor!

edit: I somehow forgot to mention that this is a restyle for the skirt, especially since that was my main reason for posting this outfit! See what else I wore this skirt with here.

Outfit 5.12.12

/ Dress: Roses / Shoes: Ingles / Necklace: My Mother's Jewelry Box / Plugs: King's Body Jewelry

This is another one of my all time favorite dresses. It was twelve dollars at my favorite discount store, Roses. I really love everything about it. The one thing I would change though, is making the detailing at the top go all the way around. I hate when clothes have the pretty part only in the front! At least the bottom detailing goes all the way around. Other than that its flawless.

The pendant on my necklace is (was!) my mom's. It's temporarily my most favorite piece of jewelry. I say temporarily because the position of my favorite when it comes to jewelry seriously changes on a weekly basis, haha. Oh and one last thing, I did my hair using Elycia's hair bow tutorial. Of course mine doesn't look anything like hers, but I have a very different type of hair. Still cute, I think :)
